Thresholds

Acrylic paint on aluminium panels.
The doors in this work, fragmented across two surfaces, symbolize the duality and complexity of home as both a boundary and an emotional threshold. Crafted from aluminum sheets with layered paint, the physical splitting of the door suggests the tension between division and connection, embodying the interplay of inside and outside. Negative space and the removal of paint serve as active elements in the composition, transforming absence into a central image. These exposed areas become sites of potentiality, where the traces of lived experience invite contemplation on how the fragmented nature of memory continuously reshapes our perceptions of home and belonging.
