This work explores the duality of home through two contrasting doors made of aluminium sheets layered with paint, symbolizing thresholds that represent both physical and emotional spaces. Drawing on Gaston Bachelard's ideas, the layering and removal of paint metaphorically evoke the accumulation of memories, where negative forms become sites of potentiality. The juxtaposition of cold aluminium and the warmth of layered paint underscores the connection between presence and absence, prompting reflections on how absence shapes identity and emotional landscapes. By emphasizing negative space, the piece invites viewers to consider the unseen forms that shape our perceptions of belonging and home.
