Between the Margins

2023
Mixed Media. Ink, acrylic, pen and tea stains on wood.

This work delves into the fragmented memory of spaces, exploring how material processes can evoke the layered nature of recollection. Through a meticulous, process-based approach, the piece navigates the subtle intersections between familiar and unfamiliar territories, employing repeated motifs and shifting perspectives—from intimate details to expansive mappings. The iterative nature of the work serves as a means of grappling with the complexities of memory and the fragmented experiences of place, with each repetition questioning the reliability of what is remembered versus what is reconstructed. The resulting compositions reflect on how these shifting recollections continually reshape the relationship between individual perception and the spaces we inhabit.
