In Permanent Precariousness, a 20-minute performance, I sweep away a map made of turmeric to metaphorise the erasure of histories. The act references the Partition of India and the Radcliffe Line, and the severance of cultural and social fabrics, drawing on the precariousness of territorial demarcation. The bright turmeric, linked to cultural significance for healing, juxtaposes the act of destruction, urging reflection on colonial legacies and the need for preservation amid divisions.
